Don't miss a minute of the fun. The TEXAS SCOTTISH FESTIVAL & HIGHLAND GAMES are renowned for its outstanding musical entertainment. The Festival has featured some of the top Scottish performers and groups in the world including-- Brian McNeill, Alasdair Fraser, Andy M. Stewart, Alex Beaton, Natalie MacMaster, Eric Rigler, Isla St Clair, Ed Miller, John Taylor, Seven Nations, The Glengarry Bhoys, Brother, Tempest, Whistlebinkies, Jiggernaut, Clandestine, the Rogues, and many other artists and performers. The TSF&HG has also featured Texas entertainers such as Don Edwards and The Quebe Sisters Band. Refer to the music page or schedule for this years performers...
The Festival will again be hosting full range of Scottish Athletic competitions. Top professional athletes will be invited.
Other regularly scheduled events include -- Scotch Whisky Tasting and Seminar, Professional, Amateur, & Novice Athletics, Children's Games & Activities, Genealogy & History Seminars, Kirking & Church services, a Gaelic Language Seminar, Scottish Military Living History Encampment,Scottish Country Dancing, a Bonniest Knee's Contest, a Medieval Scotland Area, Celtic Music, a Photo Contest, an All-Scottish Breed Dog Show, Scotch Ale Brewing Competition, , a Shortbread Contest, Celtic Art, a Pub tent, a feature Ceilidh, and much much more.
The Scottish Festival has five large entertainment tents to showcase the national and regional celtic, folk, and Scottish entertainers. Highlander Magazine has rated the Texas Scottish Festival the number one Scottish festival in North America for entertainment and talent.
Also featured are the more than sixty-five colorful Scottish Clan tents representing various Scottish Clans and families including MacDonalds, Campbells, MacDuffs, Hendersons, MacIntyres, Ross, and many more.
Scottish foods & ales including: haggis, fish & chips, scotch eggs, meat pies, bridies, & bangers will be available as well as American festival foods. Scottish vendors with a wide variety of merchandise from Scotland & Great Britain will be displaying their inventory of authentic tartan wear, kilts for the gentlemen, crafts, records, books, and gift items. Also find unique Celtic designed crafts, jewelry, and art. Texas vendors, jewelers, and crafts will also be featured.
The Festival and Games are open to the general public and is an event for the entire family with most activities scheduled continuously for each day. Musical entertainment is continuous in several areas including the largest Pub tent in North America. An attendance again in excess of 50,000 is expected for the three day event. Many people may discover they are a wee bit Scottish as they visit the colorful Family-Clan tents associated with a Scottish Gathering.
